Health & Safety Policy

At Turtle Splash, we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our staff, students, and visitors. We prioritise the well-being and safety of all individuals involved in our swimming activities. This policy outlines our commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety throughout our operations.

2. Responsibilities

 

2.1 Management

  • The management team is responsible for ensuring the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the health and safety policy.

  • They will allocate necessary resources, set objectives, and monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.


2.2 Staff

  •  All staff members are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the health and safety policy and complying with its requirements.

  • They should report any hazards, accidents, or near-miss incidents to their supervisor or the designated health and safety officer.

  • Staff members must follow all established procedures and guidelines related to health and safety.


2.3 Students and Visitors

  • Students and visitors must adhere to all safety rules, instructions, and guidelines provided by the swimming school.

  • They should report any concerns or potential hazards to a staff member immediately.

 

3. Risk Assessment and Control Measures


3.1 Risk Assessment

  • Regular risk assessments will be conducted to identify potential hazards in our swimming school environment.

  • We will assess risks associated with swimming activities, use of equipment, facility maintenance, and any other relevant areas.


3.2 Control Measures

  • Adequate control measures will be implemented to minimise identified risks.

  • Control measures may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing appropriate training to staff members

  • Ensuring proper maintenance and inspection of swimming pools, facilities, and equipment

  • Implementing emergency procedures and evacuation plans

  • Promoting good hygiene practices and cleanliness in changing areas

 

4. Training and Education


4.1 Staff Training

  • All staff members will receive appropriate training on health and safety procedures and guidelines.

  • Training sessions will be conducted periodically to update knowledge and skills as needed.

 

4.2 Student and Visitor Education

  • Students and visitors will receive clear instructions on safety rules and guidelines during their orientation.

  • Informational materials and signage will be provided to promote awareness and understanding of safety procedures.


5. Incident Reporting and Investigation


5.1 Incident Reporting

  • All accidents, incidents, and near-misses must be reported to the designated health and safety officer.

  • Incident report forms will be made available, and reporting procedures will be clearly communicated to all staff members.
     

5.2 Investigation and Improvement

  • All reported incidents will be promptly investigated to determine the root causes and identify opportunities for improvement.

  •  Corrective actions will be implemented to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.

 

6. Review and Continuous Improvement

  • This health and safety policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure its ongoing relevance and effectiveness.

  • Feedback from staff members, students, and visitors will be considered during the review process.

  • Necessary updates and improvements will be made to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
